Harlow is now ready for a new life in a loving home. Harlow came to the shelter as a stray after he was found out in the middle of no where half starved to death. We have been working with Harlow to put weight on him and though he could still use of more weight we are now happy to announce we are looking for a home for this handsome boy. Harlow is a neutered male Pitbull mix around 3 years old. He is friendly and knows that before getting fed to sit and stay if told to. He is looking for a home with no other dogs as we are still working on the food issue due to his history. He loves attention and is a social dog. Harlow will not go to just anyone looking for a dog as he is a special case here at the shelter and will need some extra attention and love. His adoption fee is $120 but he is already neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Please ask to see Harlow if you think he is the right dog for your life.

Louise had been at the shelter for over a year looking for the right home after she was left a lone out in the field for a long period of time. Louise was nervous around people and ended up taking time to warm up to new individuals. We are so happy to report that after a long search for the right home Louise was adopted. Louise is now enjoying life with her new family and we couldn’t be happier that the right family came along taking the time to get to know her. Thank you so much for your help in finding Louise the right home for her.

Amazon smile funding has been a wonderful resource for us at the Cheboygan County Humane Society. We have a story we would like to share with you about how your contributions have helped make the lives of the animals here at the shelter better. We would like to share Meathead’s story. Meathead is a 4 year old English Bull dog. He was living in a garbage can chained to a tree behind a house. When he was found, he was emaciated, with open wounds on his ears from fly-strike and in need of extra care and love.
